Galloping to Success at Antietam!
Antietam Elementary School is nestled in the beautiful tree-lined area of Lake Ridge, Virginia. As a school community, we are dedicated to providing a safe, culturally diverse environment that promotes academic excellence and life-long learning. Our teachers use a variety of developmentally appropriate instructional strategies to accomodate varied learning styles and give our students opportunities to develop their ability to work cooperatively.
Our students are focused and succesful, evidencde by their earning some of the highest Standards of Learning (SOL) scores in the county! By being recognized six times as a Prince William County School of Excellence, it is clear that we continue to accomplish this goal!
As the Mighty Mustangs, our students are involved in a variety of activities designed to enhance their instructional program. This includes being named a Baldrige in Education School, as well as working diligently as an International Baccalaureate Primary Years Programme candidate school.
Our mission could not have been accomplished without the strong family-school partnership that we are privileged to enjoy. We have an involved Parent Advisory Council (PAC), Parent Teacher Association (PTA), and Volunteer Program that focus on helping Antietam to achieve its vision and mission. Our strong team effort contributes greatly and is critical to Antietam's success as a Fully Accredited School in the Commonwealth of Virginia!
